The Tempter in the Wilderness

Matthew 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

This was immediately after Christ’s anointing as Messiah. (after His baptism)

[2] And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. [3] And when the tempter (satan) came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

Christ hungred in the flesh and satan knows this, so he’s trying to tempt Him.

[4] But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Christ is the bread of life.

John 6:[48] I am that bread of life. [49] Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. [50] This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

The bread of life is Jesus Christ.

Matthew 4:[5] Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, [Jerusalem] and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, [6] And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

In verse six satan twisted the scripture to “least at anytime” what it should really say is written in the book of Psalms chapter 91:11-12.

Psalms 91:[11] For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. [12] They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Matthew 4:[7] Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Satan will heal the deadly wound by his appearance in Jerusalem as antichrist at the woe of the sixth trumpet, tempting those who failed to realize the order of events leading up to the True Christ’s return.

When the woe of the sixth trumpet sounds satan will appear in Jerusalem disguised as Jesus and satan’s seven thousand fallen angels will be disguised as ministers of light.

2 Corinthians 11:[14] And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. [15] Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Many will have failed to realize that satan and his angels will be thrown out of heaven and onto the earth known as the woe of the fifth trumpet which is two and a half months prior to the sounding of the sixth trumpet.

Therefore the unlearned will be fooled and will fall into temptation by the tempter the antichrist.

Deuteronomy 6:[16] Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah. [17] Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.

Matthew 4:[8] Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

Satan claims to possess the right to the kingdoms of this world, and the Lord does not dispute this.

Jesus’s kingdom is not of this world.

John 18:(36) Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

Matthew 4:[9] And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.[10] Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, (get behind me) Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

The Lord is saying to satan go and the Lord ends it and satan departed.

The Lord does this in Matthew 16.

Matthew 16: [21] From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. [22] Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. [23] But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

At the present time satan is being held by Michael in heaven until it’s time for his release at the woe of the fifth trumpet and after the war you can read of in Revelation 12 starting with verse 7.

When the great horn ( in my opinion the great horn is the United Nations) of the he goat breaks then the four winds will blow starting the five month long hour of temptation which was seven years but has been shortened by Christ to a five month period. [Matthew 24:22]

When you read of the four winds it always means the five month long hour of temptation.

[11] Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

Can you be tempted by satan? Jesus wasn’t and He doesn’t want you to be either when Satan appears in Jerusalem as antichrist (the religious beast) at the woe of the sixth trumpet. Remember the True Christ comes at the woe of the seventh trumpet and after the five month long hour of temptation.

Stay in God’s Word and receive the knowledge and wisdom that only the True God can give you.

Let the Holy Spirit lead you and guide you, repent and be blessed.

The End
